Hey all,
As you know I went on a Do It Yourself free for all. The latest creation I have made is transforming a pair of old jeans into high waisted ripped and studded shorts. If you like this look follow the steps below to accomplish this garment.
Just a heads up so you know you are going to need a pair of old, strong, and thick jeans. As well as stronh scissors, needle & thread, a patch of leather, and studs. FYI: You can find a pair of good old jeans in a thrift store for really cheap. I got mines for like two bucks.
Step 1: Cut the pants to the length you feel most comfortable with.
Step 2: Make tiny insertions on the area you want to represent the rip. Note: You do not want your slots to be too thick or too thin, because this is whats going to determine the size of the ripped patch. If the slots are to tiny then the fabric will break creating a hole. If it is too thick it will leave a section of rip making it look less original/normal.
Step 3: Once all the insertions have been made and you have come to a point where you feel there are enough you can pop it in the washer. Once you wash it, place it in the dryer for 20 minutes. Note: Be sure to keep an eye on your shorts because jeans tend to shrink fast in the dryer. Also dry the jeans on LOW vs high.
Step 4: Your jeans should be ripped and distressed if their are any pieces you don't like you can snip away any parts you want. Now you can cut the back pocket in half. Make sure to cut on a diagonal to mimic the look of my shorts. Note: Make sure to leave the bottom half of the pocket on and cut off the top.
Step 5: Use the reminder of the pocket as a guide to attach the leather too.
Step 6: This step depends on the type of studs you have. I got mines at a fabric store for 10 for $1 I have about 50 studs on these shorts. These studs have little tabs in the back making hammering them into the fabric enough to keep them secure. Once you have all your studs placed in the design of your choice the look is accomplished.
Final thoughts-- I added a layer inside of my the pocket (on the inside) to create a cushion so that you don't hurt your butt when you go to sit down.
Hope you find this helpful and Enjoy.

Jil Sanders Menswears Fall 2012
Smooth sexy and confident. Are three words to best describe this Menswear's collection. I really enjoyed the men in black appeal this collection has as well as the feel of mystery in the air as these gentlemen walk the run way. Check it out! And feel free to let me know what you think.

Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter
Winter wonderland. The show starts off and emerges from small to big. Nothing but feathers and furs. The color scheme of white, red, and silver. The beginning of the collection has silver bow like belts that I believe then they showcase silver flower belts. In the middle some of the white pieces appear to either have some sheer because you do see skin. Towards the end the dresses are full fur or feathers, I enjoyed the really big pieces they were fun and outrages which is always a good combination. Many people feel that this line may be to f eminent,Check it out below!

Peplum
Word on the street is Peplum,
This cute little trend has been seen in so many of the retail stores I shop at but it has also made a great deal of appearances on people. As we all know street fashion is where we can trend hunt. But it is also where we see some things we wished we had not. Lets get down to business. In a perfect world all trends are for everyone and everybody type. But we don't live in a perfect world so I just want to give you guys some advice. If you are busty you have to go about the peplum trend accordingly. If you want to wear it in the shirt look, do get the size a little bigger. This will make the shirt appear a little longer drawing more attention to your hips. Also the peplum skirt vs dress might be a better match for you. Because you can wear a top that gives you a little more room or a showcase some of that sexy cleavage you have.
Secondly if your body type is a bit larger or wider in the hip or thighs area. This trend will draw a whole lot of attention to the bottom area. It will make it appear bigger than it is. If this is something that does not bother you then go for it. But if you want to hide them a little I suggest getting a peplum dress that has a sheer top half and a solid bottom. This will draw attention to your racks and then the eyes will work their way down.
Note: The peplum goes best with a boyish body type and a small bust body type. Mainly because it can create hips/ shape for them.

How to Make a hair bow
Hey guys,
I have recently decided to go on a "Do it yourself " rampage. I'm trying to save money to sponsor a well needed vacation to Miami. So be on the look out for tons of DYI items that I will be posting in the How- To-Tutorials label.
Today's main focus is on the oh so adorable hair bows. Many people have moved onto the head scarves replica of a hair bow, but for those who stand by this trend this post is for you. Need i say that if you are rocking a short due this summer hair bows are an amazing accessory for your hair.
Okay lets get started. Here is a list of what you are going to need:
Step 1: Cut a thin strip from the fabric (on the horizontal line). Make sure you have it to the thickness you see fit. This strip will act as the knot that keeps the bow together.
Step 2: You want to fold the remaining fabric over itself so that it looks like a rectangle with no cuts or loose pieces of cut fabric are shown. The importance of this is so the bow looks sewn yet you don't see the seams.
Step 3: Now that the rectangle of fabric is folded to your liking, you can take the strip of fabric and wrap it around the center. You should use a pin to hold it together so that you don't loose the place you want it to be.
Step 4: Now take your glue gun and glue the end pieces of the strip together. (Let the glue cool and dry for 15 minutes.)
Step 5. String (Place) The clip through the space between the rectangle piece of fabric and the strip. Apply glue to the side of the clip that will act as the piece attached to the fabric and the strip. Hold the clip in place for a few minutes. Then allow the glue to cool and dry. (Note: You might want to find a bigger clip to hold everything together while the glue drys)
Once the glue is dry, you have successfully made a hair bow. And it should be ready to wear as you please (Note: I would wait a day before doing so)

- Fabric (any fabric will do the size does not matter it all really depends on how big you want your bow)
- A hot glue gun (you can find these things for such a bargain at art stores rather than sewing/fabric stores. I got mines for 2 Bucks at Blick Art supply)
- A small hair clip (I tend to use the flat silver clips-- hairdressers usually use them when they wrap your hair) FYI: I will post a picture later showing you what type of clips works best.
- Scissors

How to Pencil your Eyebrows
In order to create a good natural brow you should start off by shaping your real brow to create a template. [FYI: There are kits out there with brow templates I used The Essence of Beauty Eyebrow starter kit]
If you already have the shape of the brow you wish to draw on then your 1st step will be to take your brow brush and brush your eyebrow hairs into place.
The 2nd step will be to draw the line (or use on of the templates, if you do not have a template tape works well and is easier to see what the shape will look like before tracing. Also you can free hand. If you choose to free hand note that the eyebrow should start at the the start of your eye, the line should fall in the same path as the sides of your nose.)
Make sure you draw the bottom line first and then the top line. The top line can be as high as you want to create the thickness or thinness you want your brow to be. [Note: your brow should start to arch at the point diagonal of the pupil of your eye and the brow should end where your eye stops.]
The 3rd step is to fill your brow in. You can either use Brow color or use the pencil. If you use the pencil be sure to make small hair like marks.
Technically once you have completed this step you have created your brow and should repeat the steps in order on the opposite brow.
If you choose to want a more defined brow you can add some concealer around the brow to clean up any mistakes. It is best to apply a small amount closely around the brow. I usually do small marks moving downward towards my eye (not to close the eye though) and then blend it in. Once it is all blended i retrace my brow edges with a thin line of concealer.
When I first started I didn't use concealer I actually used the lighter shade of brow color in The Essence of Beauty Eyebrow Starter kit. So there you have it.

What To expect This Fall
Peplum skirts and shirts have been making a splash so I believe they will be here a little longer.
PRINTS, prints, and more prints. It seems we just can't get enough. [ Fashion advice: Try pairing a bright patterned pant with a peplum top in a nude neutral color. ] There will be Peplum jackets for the fall as well.
Leather jackets, are always a fall necessity. They are so easy to style, and they can turn a dull outfit into something with a pop or ruff edge.

Fall Must Haves
These are the things that you will always need when the fall season arrives.
1. Leather Jacket- always great for a night out and give you some rocker sheek. It also can add spunk to a dull outfit.
2. Varsity Jacket- For the cold days when you want to look and feel both cute and comfortable. Seems to give the sense of belonging or even the "I am taken" personality. They go great with any wash of jeans. To tie the look all together add a nice boot.
3. The classic trench coat. Need I say more? A classic is forever, and designers have been putting their own spin on these coats lately. A trench can turn a LBD it something as magical as Breakfast at Tiffany's. They give off a very sophisticated look. They work well with flat, booties, practical anything. An if you want to take it an extra mile. Make your own DYI trench dress (Cut of the sleeves and add some embellishments.)
4. Acrylic sweaters- Very warm and cozy. These are great for creating layers and is another effortless style. If you want you could throw the sweater and some leggings on. Acrylic fabric holds the heat so its perfect for those chilly days. No need for a jacket this thing will get the job done and its light weight.
5. Printed chunky cardigans- Effortless style, They too are very warm and pair nice with either leggings or a good jean. Belting them creates an hourglass shape, so that is always a plus!
6.Combat boots- No need for those heavy duty timberland boots. Although when you want to dress a little more street they have a lot more support when the snow hits the ground. But if you want to had some military to your wardrobe these things are amazing. They can be worn in any season and with anything..so this is simply just a must have all year round.
7. Tights- Go great with skirts, shorts, and boots. Keep your legs covered and protected. Also, if you choose not to shave in the Fall/ Winter no one will have to know because the buzz will be cleverly disguised .
8. Leg warmers- Best to have for this sole reason. To keep your legs warm! I know really obvious but these things really get the job done. Also they go great with tights!
9. Knee High Wedge boots- One word SEXY!. There great because the leather keeps your feet dry. Go great with almost anything. But do wear warm socks with these bad boys because the leather will make your feet cold. Styling tip: Knee high socks and leg warmers look so cute with these boots.
10. Scarves- Any scarf will do. Prints and colors are nice for fall. Knit circle scarfs are what I prefer. They not only keep your neck warm but it can double and keep your head warm if placed on your head..Obviously.
There you have it my personal top 10 Fall must haves.
