Lost one of your buttons on a shirt/jacket, or maybe the button on your jeans popped off. But how about this one you just bought some cheap clothing and the buttons where a lost cost.
Now there are many people out there who don't know how to sew a button on. Well this is dedicated to you guys.
How to sew on a button:
1. Make sure you have the right size button for your needs.
2. Double check that all of the excess thread from the previous button has been removed from the garments.
3. Thread your needle. (tips. licking the thread makes it condensed, so you can get the whole string of thread in. Also holding the needle and thread up to a light makes it easier to see the whole in the needle.)
4. Place the button on the area you want it to be on the garment.5. Once you have the thread to the length you feel will be enough to sew on the button double knot it at the end in order to hold things together.
6. On the inside layer of the fabric poke a hole to go threw the bottom whole of the button. (Make sure you start from the inside of the garment so the knot is not visible.)
7. Then proceed to place the needle into the button whole next to it. Repeat that motion 2x.
8. Next move the thread to the button whole on top. Repeat that motion 2x.
9. And so on and so on until you feel the button is firm an well secured.
10. Last step is to tie a knot in the back to make sure all of the pieces of thread stay put.
Good Luck and Let me know if pictures are needed..
